The ultimate reward for Yaarana members

At Reliance World, we are constantly looking for new and innovative ways that would enable our customers to enjoy every moment of the time that they spend at our Broadband Centre and take home rewards and unforgettable memories.

In September 2007, the Yaarana programme was launched at the Broadband Centre in Reliance World across India. It was designed to reward not just our customers for having a good time at the Broadband Centre but also their friends and family.

Yaarana is about referring one’s Yaars to Reliance World, experiencing our bouquet of services—including Camference, a video chat application that allows users to create a world of their own where they could use audio, video & text to communicate with others in private and public Camference Rooms—and getting rewarded for doing that. The more Yaars one brings, the bigger the rewards. And, the Yaars are rewarded too, leading to a complete win-win situation for everyone participating in the programme.

Those interested were required to register as Yaarana members at any Reliance World. Thereafter a Yaarana account with a Yaarana login ID and password was created and emailed to them. Participants could then use this account to send invitations to their friends and family explaining the Yaarana programme, add new Yaars to their account and view & redeem their rewards online, thus providing complete transparency to the promotion.

Rewards ranged from free Broadband Centre Recharge Packs and free membership to the World Citizen Club to an opportunity to dine with M S Dhoni—Captain of the Indian Cricket team that won the 2007 Twenty20 World Cup. 12 Reliance World members with the highest number of Yaarana referrals were to win an all-expenses paid trip to Mumbai and a delicious opportunity to dine with Dhoni.

All the Yaarana members participated enthusiastically in the promotion, redeeming their rewards and doing their best to secure a seat at Dhoni’s table. At the end of the promotion period, the winners were announced and on the appointed date flown in to Mumbai for the much-awaited evening with Dhoni.

The venue, Hyatt Regency, Mumbai was abuzz with excitement as the Yaarana winners from various parts of the country met Dhoni individually and exchanged greetings with him. Many went on an autograph-collecting spree and Dhoni graciously obliged. We even spotted a winner grinning proudly at his collection of seven autographs! Dhoni also handed over a memento (miniature bat carrying his signature) to each winner.

The winners sat back and enjoyed an entertainment extravaganza, complete with dance, singing and mimicry shows. The eventful evening concluded with dinner and a bushel of memories for all Reliance World winners.
